Are Honey Bees Dangerous?

Honey bees are non-aggressive unless they or their hive is threatened. Honey bees normally just go about their business and don't bother anyone. The only place honey bees will normally be seen is on a flower, or occasionally getting a drink in an area where there is open water. If someone disturbs a hive they can receive multiple stings, but wild honey bee hives are normally found at least 10-15 feet up in tree cavities, walls of buildings, etc., so chances of a "close encounter' are slim. Honey bee stings are painful, but unless you are allergic to them, no permanent harm will be done.
